  4. Arctic; mountains rise above 
  5. 2,000 m/6,000 ft, and there are several large
  6. lakes. The northernmost part of the strait
  7. separating Baffin Island from Greenland forms
  8. Baffin Bay, the southern end is Davis Strait.
  9. It is named after William Baffin, who carried
  10. out research here 1614 during his search for
  11. the Northwest Passage.
